The EU will propose to introduce a single connector for charging smartphones

According to Reuters, the European Commission will present a bill on September 23 requiring different manufacturers to install the same charging connector on mobile phones, as well as tablets and headphones.

The European Union has been talking about this initiative for more than ten years. The EU also believes it will be more beneficial for sustainable development and more convenient for consumers.

Apple will be hardest hit by the law if passed. It uses Lightning connectors while most other manufacturers use USB micro-B or USB-C.
