Isolate the National Rally from the key positions? An objective for the presidential camp and left in the National Assembly, it is now a reality in the European Parliament. After returning to school on Tuesday, the newly elected MEPs actually stood together to prevent the far-right group “Patriots for Europe”, chaired by Jordan Bardella, from taking important jobs in Strasbourg.
This is because the right has succeeded in the European Parliament. The new “Patriots for Europe” Formation has become the third power in the chamber, with 84 MEPs. A group that belongs to the National Rally (RN) but also the Vox group of Spain and the army of Hungarian Viktor Orban, a recent guest of Putin.
The initiative has a significant number that could have received two of the 14 deputies of the European Parliament, according to the normal distribution. The positions in which the far-right party wants to see the French Fabrice Leggeri, former head of the EU border agency Frontex, and the Czech Klara Dostalova. But they were removed by the vote of other political forces.

Formation can then be removed next week from the presidents of the parliamentary committees.

The former leader of the Greens for the European elections Marie Toussaint spoke about “good news” and that of Insoumis Manon Aubry was happy that “the extreme right is in retreat”. The fact remains that the main far-right party in the European Parliament, the ECR and its 78 MEPs associated with the head of the Italian government Giorgia Meloni, won two deputy seats.
