The event “20 Yanvar – Müstəqilliyimizə gedən yol” (January 20 – the road to our independence) was jointly organized by the humanitarian department of the Baku City Executive Power and the Baku Book Center, the press service of the Baku City Executive Power reported to Day.Az.
The event was attended by veterans of the Karabakh war, children of martyrs, and representatives of the public.
Welcoming the participants of the event, Director of the Baku Book Center Gunel Rzayeva noted that today we can confidently say that we are representatives of a happy generation.
She emphasized that we were lucky enough to see and experience three miracles. One of them is the liberation after many years of occupation of Azerbaijani lands as a result of the 44-day Patriotic War, the second is anti-terrorist measures in September 2023, the third is how the Azerbaijani flag flutters in Khankendi. These miracles were performed by the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and our heroic army under his leadership.
The head of the department of socio-political, humanitarian issues and work with religious institutions of the Executive Power of the city of Baku, Elmin Imanov, noted that 34 years have passed since the tragedy of January 20, which became a heroic page in the history of Azerbaijan, on this day it was demonstrated that the determination of the Azerbaijani people to fight for national freedom cannot be broken by any force.
The 44-day Patriotic War once again demonstrated to the world that the people of Azerbaijan are invincible and proud. He rallied around President Ilham Aliyev and liberated his land from Armenian occupation.
Next, the literary and artistic composition “January 20 – the road to our independence” was performed by young actors from the Center for Child and Youth Development No. 3. The composition was met with great interest by the event participants.
At the end of the event, the children of the martyrs were presented with the books “Heydar Aliyev and History of Azerbaijan” (Heydar Aliyev and history of Azerbaijan) and “Our Great Victory” (Our Great Victory), dedicated to the activities of President Ilham Aliyev, published by the Executive Power of the city of Baku.
