The former head of the Kalininsky district of St. Petersburg, Ivan Gromov, was detained, sources told Fontanka and TV channel 78.

Gromov left the post the day before; the governor of the city, Alexander Beglov, dismissed him from his post.

According to “Fontanka”, a search was carried out in the apartment where Gromov lives, then he was taken to the Main Investigation Department of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in St. Petersburg and interrogated.

According to sources of the publication, Gromov is a suspect in a criminal case of fraud with the use of his official position (part 3. 159 of the Criminal Code). She faces up to six years in prison.

According to 78, Gromov is charged with the theft of more than 150 million rubles. during the period when he served as head of the informatization committee.
