Special forces took a man off a train at Wuppertal Central Station and took him away because an eyewitness mistook him for the ex-terrorist they were looking for. Since it could not be ruled out that the man posed a danger, special forces were deployed and surrounded a train. They arrested the suspicious man and a female companion to establish their identities.

Several media outlets reported that it was dust. “The initial suspicion about the man’s identity was not confirmed,” the police announced a short time later. The man and his companion were immediately released.

The ZDF program “Aktenzeichen XY … unsolved” launched a new search call for three ex-RAF terrorists who are still wanted on Wednesday. According to their own statements, the investigators then received around 160 tips.

Staub is attributed to the so-called “third generation” of the Red Army faction. He is charged with attempted murder and a series of aggravated robberies. During the active period of the “third generation”, Deutsche Bank boss Herrhausen and Treuhand boss Rohwedder were murdered by RAF terrorists.
