Time.news – Uno gaze on the art scene that populated the Roman quarter of San Lorenzo from the 1960s to today. To throw it is the exhibition “The stars of San Lorenzo“, curated by Valentina Ciarallo, in progress at the Gallery Gilda Lavia, among the most active realities in the promotion of emerging Italian and foreign artists.
The exhibition, which has been very successful, has been extended until next July 22nd.

It’s about a collectiveorganized on the occasion of the Gallery’s five years of activity, designed to be a tribute to the San Lorenzo district, to its liveliness that still today, with the formation of new young realities, makes this area a central pole of interest, as well as a very popular place for students. The exhibition itinerary is made up of a selection of works by twenty-one artistsstarting with the masters who first animated the spaces of the former Ceres pasta factory.

In the text accompanying the exhibition, the curator explains that “the proliferation of artists’ studios however goes well beyond the former Pastificio Cerere, enlivening the whole neighborhood which has alternated more or less prosperous moments without ever ceasing to produce art, confirming place of creativity and stimulus.In more recent times – he underlines Valentina Ciarallo – San Lorenzo is experiencing a renaissance with the sprouting of independent spaces, new studios, galleries and redeveloping as art-district of the city”.

The artists on display are Claudio Abate, Elisabetta Benassi, Alessandro Calizza, Bruno Ceccobelli, Giovanni De Cataldo, Gianni Dessì, Mauro Di Silvestre, Rossella Fumasoni, Krizia Galfo, Giuseppe Gallo, Felice Levini, Sabina Mirri, Chromatic Number, Nuncio, Marina Paris, Leonardo Petrucci, Piero Pizzi Cinnamon, Pietro Ruffo, Paolo William Tamburella, Marco Tirelli, Francesca Woodman.
