The television anime adaptation of The Exiled Heavy Knight Knows How to Game the System has revealed a main trailer, key visual, new cast members, and theme songs for its second cours, continuing to stream on Crunchyroll through Fall 2026.
Fans settling in for the next batch of episodes can expect fresh faces and newly announced musical acts. The staff behind the series, produced at animation studio GoHands, pulled back the curtain on the upcoming arc on Thursday, detailing the creative lineup driving the second quarter of its broadcast run.
New Cast Additions for the Second Cours
Four additional voice actors are joining the roster to voice characters introduced in this phase of the story. Kōsuke Tanabe steps into the role of Kelt, a B-rank hunter who joins a raid quest alongside Elymas. Tsugumi Sakuragi takes on the part of Maebel, a C-rank priest. Misaki Kuno voices Hilde, a B-rank magic swordsman who claims to be Carlos’ foremost disciple. Rounding out the new additions, Kengo Kawanishi plays Carlos, an A-rank magic swordsman better known as the Black Flame Blade.
Musical changes accompany the narrative progression. VTuber Tokoyami Towa performs the new opening theme song, Rewrite the Answer,
while rock band PompadollS handles the ending theme, Contemporary Dance.
Both tracks feature prominently in the newly released promotional trailer.
Staff Behind the GoHands Production
The series is helmed by general director Shingo Suzuki alongside director Katsumasa Yokomine at GoHands. Character designer Takayuki Uchida also shares chief animation director duties with Keiji Tani and Makoto Furuta. Tetsuichi Yamagishi serves as chief director, and Hiroshi Ōkubo acts as main animator. Sound production is managed by Glovision Kudan Studio, with Enji Nakajima and Tetsuya Gunji directing the sound, while Ludvig Forssell composes the musical score.
The adaptation is based on the light novel series by Nekoko with illustrations by Jaian, which initially launched on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō website in April 2021 before Kodansha acquired it for print publication in June 2022.
From Web Novel Beginnings to Global Streaming
The underlying narrative follows Elma, a protagonist who realizes his current reality mirrors the video game he used to play. Stripped of his birthright after manifesting the supposedly useless Heavy Knight class during the Divine Blessing Ceremony, Elma uses his past-life knowledge to master the system.

Brocco Lee launched the manga adaptation on Kodansha’s YanMaga Web in February 2022 before transferring to Weekly Young Magazine. Kodansha publishes the manga in English via K Manga, and the 19th compiled book volume is scheduled to ship on October 6.
