In the event that the smartphone fell into the snow, it is necessary to take a number of actions that will help keep the device in good condition, said Nikita Efimov, head of the Megafon service department.
In a commentary to RIA Novosti, he noted that wrong actions can be costly.
The expert recommends that after a smartphone falls into a snowdrift, you need to shake it to remove excess liquid and make sure that there is no snow left on it – check the connectors, speaker, SIM card slot, remove the battery, if possible.
After returning home, the device will need to be wiped with moisture-absorbing agents. At the same time, you need to refrain from using your smartphone during the day. He also warned against drying the smartphone with a hair dryer or on a battery.
“In the first case, you will only disperse the water, and in the second, you will damage the battery due to sudden overheating,” Efimov explained.
He also warned against charging the gadget before it dries completely. According to him, the snow contains a large number of reagents that, when in contact with electricity, will corrode and damage the smartphone.
