In the current fiscal year 2024-25, the target of export income growth is 12.40 percent, said Finance and Trade Advisor Salehuddin Ahmed.
He said, the situation has changed. Due to this, the export income will not decrease this time. Rather, it will be more than before. America will also have a positive view from all sides.
He said this after the 59th Board of Directors meeting of the 146th Bangladesh Foreign Trade Institute of Export Development Bureau (EPB) in the meeting room of the Ministry of Commerce at the Secretariat on Sunday (September 8) in response to questions from journalists.
Have you fixed the export revenue target for this financial year? In response to questions from journalists, the trade adviser said that there were some informational issues regarding exports. We have discussed these. For those who collect information, we will continue to do so. We will combine all to give the true picture. One person will give the same information, that will not happen. There are some differences, admittedly. The great inconsistency will be removed.
He said, the export target will be reasonable. There are various components for export, I will look at them. There are different products, I will look at them. And we will review the regulatory and tax related obstacles in the field of export. Exports should be diversified, that is our aim.
What is your projection in terms of export income? In response to questions from journalists, Salehuddin Ahmed said, “We have realized that it (export growth) will be fairly good.” Given the situation has changed, so it will not be less than before, it will be more than before.
Will you get GSP benefits in America this time? When asked such a question by the journalists, the trade advisor said that they have already been told about the GSP benefits. We will try again. We hope, they are told, that America will look favorably on us from all sides. Therefore GSPTA is positive. We are talking to others about exports.
