The General Export Price Index of industrial products registered a year-on-year decrease of 2.7% last June, its biggest drop since June 2020, as reported this Friday by the National Statistics Institute (INE).

The export prices of industrial products went negative last April after 27 months of year-on-year increases, thus accumulating two months in negative.

The year-on-year drop in June was due to the behavior of the prices of intermediate goods (-5.1%) and energy (-43.7%), in contrast to non-durable consumer goods, which increased in annual rate by 6 .3%, four tenths below May, due to the fact that the prices of the manufacture of vegetable and animal oils and fats rose less than they did in June of last year.
