Vladimir Kadaria is accused of stealing money from the accounts of foreign citizens and legal entities in 2008 “by modifying computer information” (Part 4 of Article 212 of the Criminal Code), the Investigative Committee of Belarus reported.

U SC reported, that Vladimir Kadaria pleaded guilty. SC also published video recordingin which the man claims that he has nothing to do with political activity and has nothing to do with the publication of information that he appealed to the president of Kyrgyzstan with a request not to extradite him to Belarus.

“I don’t know who posted these articles and why. I have nothing to do with it. Apparently, it was done by Kyrgyz lawyers who wanted to fight against my extradition in this way and decided to go this way without my knowledge,” he says in the video.

  • On March 6, it became known that Vladimir Kadaria was extradited from Kyrgyzstan. It was reported that 37-year-old Kadaria was a citizen of Belarus named Andrei Kovalev. In 2017, he received refugee status in Ukraine and changed his surname after receiving citizenship.
  • As his lawyer told, earlier Kadaria appealed to the President Sadyr Zhaparov with a request not to extradite him to Belarus. In the address, he said that he fled from Belarus to Ukraine due to political persecution. In Belarus, he was the administrator of an Internet resource that published opposition materials.
  • Last year in August, Kadaria came to Kyrgyzstan, and in September he was detained at the request of Belarus. From the pre-trial detention center, he asked for the status of a fugitive and on December 9, 2022, he received the relevant certificate. However, three days later, on December 12, the Bishkek court issued a decision on his extradition, satisfying the statement of the Prosecutor General’s Office.
  • Kadariya’s defense believes that his extradition is a violation of international law by Kyrgyzstan.
  • Lawyers of Vladimir Kadaria appealed to the higher instance. On February 15, the Bishkek City Court upheld the decision of the first instance.
