What is meant by this is unclear. Who was going to attack a country with nuclear weapons? Doesn’t open. It also does not say that nuclear weapons are a guarantee against attack.
But even if we don’t touch on nuclear weapons, but consider the state of the armed forces of NATO countries, there was no reason to do what Putin did. There were and are no threats to Russia. Putin’s rhetorical formulas do not stand up to criticism. This is fiction.
This has been written about more than once. If NATO countries were preparing to attack Russia, their arsenals would be full, weapons updated, armies mobilized, society prepared. But none of this happened.
Yesterday another proof arrived. German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius issued a statement that can be considered a consequence of Putin’s special operation:
“We have five to eight years to catch up as far as the military, industry and society are concerned.”
Pistorius is reported to have said that Russia is significantly increasing its arms production (which is obvious) and is also threatening the security of Moldova, Georgia and the Baltic countries (which is less obvious when it comes to the use of military force).
How great the fears are can be seen from the statement of Pistorius, who allowed the return of compulsory military conscription, abolished in Germany in 2011. It’s interesting to ask those who take Putin’s rhetoric at face value. This decision of Germany in 2011 also suggests that it was preparing to fight Russia together with NATO?
We think that any objective observer understands that NATO countries are forced to look for solutions to strengthen their security. These are retaliatory measures.
As for what Putin and his associates did, the damage to Russia is enormous – they betrayed the trust of the world, which was won by Mikhail Gorbachev and his policy of “new thinking.” Now there is a new “arms race”. And it’s good if it’s just her.
