Sanara Valiyeva: “We stayed in the rain and water with 2 children”
“My whole house was destroyed. We are stuck in the rain and water with 2 children, the children often get sick.”
These words were lost in the Second Karabakh War Elmir Valiyev’s wife Sanara Valiyeva he says. Valiyeva, who lives in Karimbeyli village of Fuzuli, told Abzas Media that the roof of her house collapsed due to a strong wind on June 18, but local institutions have not done anything to solve the problem for 4 months.
“It was a hurricane-like strong wind, it blew over the house. I went to the executive office, wrote a letter to the Ministry of Emergency Situations. The answer came that there was no natural disaster such that the wind destroyed the roof of the house, but they said that help would be provided. After that, we talked and asked many times, but no one came. I also went to the Executive Authority last week, but there is still no result. Now it is October, winter is coming, the condition of the house is very bad,” he said.
Sanara Valiyeva, who lives in an open house with 2 young children, says that her children get sick when the weather gets colder.
“My son is 12 years old, my daughter is 10 years old. Both are sick. They often get sick after the roof of the house collapses. They study on icy concrete. When it rains, water drips into the house. There is a humidity in the house.”
Hafiz Misirli, head of the department of organization of work with the participants of the civil war and the families of martyrs of the Fuzuli District Executive Authority Abzas told Media that the relevant institutions have been approached about the issue.
“All documentation related to the house has been completed and sent to the Ministry of Emergency Situations and the Cabinet of Ministers. An opinion was given from there that it will be fixed. In other words, we were informed that the issue will be resolved positively,” he said.
But when this will happen, the representative of the executive power said that he did not know.
Ministry of Emergency SituationsIn the reply sent to Sanara Valiyeva, it was stated that the weather on June 18 was not at the level to cause a natural disaster:
“According to the weather report of the National Hydrometeorological Service “On weather conditions for the territory of Fuzuli region” as of June 18, the wind speed and hail diameter observed in Fuzuli on June 18 were below the dangerous limit indicator that would cause a natural disaster. For this reason, it is not in our power to take action on the fact.”
Elmir Valiyev was a junior sergeant of the Azerbaijan Army. He participated in the Second Karabakh War, which started on September 27, 2020. He died on October 27 during the battles for Fuzuli. After his death, Elmir Valiyev was awarded the medals “For the success of the country”, “Brave warrior”, “For the release of Fuzuli”, “For the release of Khojavend”.
