A popular IPS officer who went on a trip to London without taking a formal holiday has been sacked.
Alangirita Singh is a former SP in the Department of Women and Child Protection in Uttar Pradesh. He has been touring London without taking a formal leave of absence from work last year.
On October 19 last year, she made a video call to her superior through Alangirita Watts, saying that she was currently in London and could not come to work tomorrow.
Following this he did not come to work. The Uttar Pradesh Additional Chief Secretary sent a notice to Alangirita seeking clarification on the matter.
In this context, the Uttar Pradesh government yesterday suspended Alangirita after 5 months in the case as her explanation was not appropriate.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has taken action in this regard.
