The FEB confirms the “stability” of its competitions for the 2023/24 season

The Delegate Commission of the Spanish Basketball Federation (FEB) has confirmed this Tuesday the registration of 243 teams in the six federation competitions for the 2023/24 season, with LF Endesa as the highest women’s ranking and LEB Oro as the highest men’s level.

“A new year in which there have been more applications than places available in most of the leagues. The EBA League is the only one that opens a period to cover the three places available in Groups D and E until next Friday the 21st of July at 2:00 p.m.”, reported the FEB in a press release.

Thus, the FEB has validated the documentation and guarantees presented by the clubs to confirm each registration in their respective category. There will be a total of 243 teams distributed throughout: LF Endesa, LF Challenge and Women’s League 2 in women’s competition; and LEB Gold League, LEB Silver League and EBA League in men’s competition.

“The Delegate Commission has made all its decisions unanimously, highlighting the professionalism of the clubs when making the registrations and presenting the necessary documentation,” the press release stressed. He has also highlighted the “stability” of his projects with “ambitious objectives”.

“The confirmed promotions of Baxi Ferrol and Celta Zorka Recalvi place Galicia as the Autonomous Community with the most representatives in the LF Endesa, equaling Catalonia and the Basque Country. For the rest, the stability of a competition with projects with ambitious objectives and with seven teams participating in European competition”, he has described about his top-level women’s tournament.

Rioverde Clavijo, Grupo Ureta Tizona, Hestia Menorca, Baloncesto Fuenlabrada and Real Betis are the new faces of the 2023/24 season in the LEB Oro. “Cities and clubs that are part of the history of the competition. Logroño returns five years after its relegation, and Menorca returns to the LEB Oro, once again reactivating the island’s fans”, stated the press text.

“LEB Oro confirms the stability of a competition that continues to grow and the normality of promotions and relegations to the ACB League. The Regular League champion will be awarded the first of the two promotion places while the second will be put at stake under the Final Four format after a first phase of the Playoffs”, specified the FEB.
