Things went up in August
Of the car market in the EU grew in August for the first time this year. The manufacturers association ACEA registered 650,305 new registrations, 4.4 percent more than in the same month last year. All four major individual markets have grown, with Italy showing the strongest growth of 9.9 percent. Deutschland showed with 3 percent the weakest growth.
Die The balance of the first eight months is still negative out. Total rolled just under 6 million new cars on the street, round 12 percent less than in the already weak previous year. All four key markets are down, Italy by 18 percent, France by 14 percent, Germany by 10 percent and Spain by a good 9 percent. If you include the EFTA countries Switzerland, Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein as well as the United Kingdom, 6.46 million passenger cars were newly registered in Europe between January and August, 12 percent fewer than in the same period of 2021.
