The Federal Tax Service (FTS) of Russia has posted a list of 449 cars worth more than 10 million rubles, which will be subject to a transport “luxury tax”.
“To calculate the tax and its advance payments, a coefficient of 3 is applied to cars with an average cost of 10 to 15 million rubles. inclusive, from the year of production of which no more than 10 years have passed, as well as for cars with an average cost of 15 million rubles or more, produced no more than 20 years ago, ”the press service said.
The list is posted on the official website of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation – it includes 449 marks, 275 of which cost 10-15 million rubles, and 174 – more than 15 million rubles. Owners of such cars will receive the first tax notices for this year in autumn 2024.
A transport tax with a multiplier coefficient for cars began to be applied in 2014, when the corresponding amendments were introduced into the Tax Code (TC) of the Russian Federation. Until last year, it was valid only for vehicles (TC) more expensive than 3 million rubles. The tax applies to certain categories of vehicles and depends on the average cost of the car and its age. The new rules apply to those car owners who purchased a car after January 1, 2022.
