The Ecuadorian Football Federation (FEF) has shown its support for the club in this regard. The situation is complicated by the lawsuit filed by Valverde and the FEF’s denial of his last appeal. In response, the League’s defense lawyer, Andrés Holguín, announced on his social networks that the case is moving forward and that the FEF has rejected the footballer’s appeal. LDU’s lawyer emphasized that they have no outstanding debts with Valverde and that, on the contrary, the player must pay the value of his contract termination, since he unilaterally separated from the team. Holguín considers this decision of the FEF as favorable news, since it supports the integrity and compliance with the procedures established by the Federation. Furthermore, he emphasized that this ruling provides legal clarity and certainty, allowing the club to focus on its sporting objectives with peace of mind and confidence in the legal process. With this resolution, Jefferson Valverde is disqualified from signing with another team, and Liga Deportiva Universitaria will seek to include any future club in the demand for two million dollars of the termination clause against the player.
