Iconic buildings in the capital were illuminated by light and colorful works in the Lunar festival tonight as well.

Twenty-two light works transform Sofia and turn it into an open-air gallery in the evenings from May 9 to 12 this year. Video and static 3D projections on buildings, light installations, immersive experiences and a laser show create a parallel reality on a number of the capital’s favorite iconic buildings and parks.

Over 20 artists from all over the world present their art in the unique 4.5 km event route and the new dedicated festival area – South Park 2, completely free for all residents and guests of the city, and the lights will be switched on between 21:00 and 00:00 h. in each of the four evenings.

Yana Genova, Deputy Mayor for “Culture, Education, Sports and Youth Activities”, explained that “Lunar” creates an open-air Gallery with free access, awakens the imagination, gives the opportunity for the participation of international artists together with Bulgarian ones, which will contributed to their participation in international projects. The streets that will be closed to traffic have been chosen so that people can reach all locations on foot, Pavlova pointed out. – In order for citizens to have the opportunity to calmly visit all the places on the Festival route, which are located about 4.5 km away, and then calmly go home, public transport will operate with extended working hours, including the subway.
