There is not much time left before the opening of the Cannes Film Festival. So inevitably, festival-goers are starting to wait.
AT Cannes (Alpes-Maritimes), we are taking care of the very last preparations. Catherine Deneuve will be enthroned above the red carpet throughout the event. Visitors have already started arriving and are starting to snap while waiting for the opening ceremony. “We’ve been there for four days, we say to ourselves ‘wow, she’s here’, the festival poster is the start of the festival”, comments a passerby. For the 76th edition, 21 films will be in competition and more than 35,000 cinema professionals will be present for the event. So in small hotels, we try to push the walls. An establishment is full, as the demand is strong. “We are a twenty-room hotel. Yes, the vast majority are regulars. What they prefer is proximity to the palace, of course, and all the parties and all the infrastructure that has been set up”says a hotel manager.

Same observation for cafes and restaurants where the excitement is already felt. “This year, there is a good program from what I understand. The clientele is there, a lot of reservations, a lot of movie nights, so I think it’s going to be nice”details a restaurant manager.
