As the CPI reported on its Facebook account, the commission sitting at the Public Management Agency evaluated five candidates who applied for the post. After completing the tender procedures and evaluating the candidates’ competencies and compliance with the requirements, A. Valotka was selected.
So far, the Public Management Agency, which conducted the tender, has not officially published information about the selected applicant. True, the Eltai agency indicated that despite the fact that the tender committee selected the applicant, the final decision on whether to appoint A. Valotkas to the position will be made by the Minister of Culture Simonas Kairys.
“According to the provisions of the description of the procedure for hiring a civil servant, regardless of the fact that the tender commission has selected the applicant who won the evaluation of the applicants in the commission, the person hiring the civil servant (in this case – the Minister of Culture) has the right to choose this applicant for the position or not to choose him with a reasoned written decision “, states the Public Management Agency’s comment.
ELTA reminds that in October last year A. Valotka, who is famous for his scandalous statements, was sent a proposal from the Ministry of Culture to terminate the employment relationship by mutual agreement.
Then the head of the State Language Inspectorate was given a note regarding the statement about the passengers who “speak in Churkish languages”. However, A. Valotka himself testified that he did not say “Churkas”, but “Turks”.
Some time ago, A. Valotka received criticism for her statements on the LRT radio show. He then said that the Polish name plates of villages in the Vilnius district not only mark the historical territory occupied by the Poles, but also violate the laws of Lithuania and should therefore be removed. The head of the State Language Inspectorate equated these inscriptions with the labeling of Russian-occupied territories of Donbass.
