DECRYPTION – The presidency of this strategic commission, led by the most important opposition group, could fall to the Insoumis.
Failing to enter Matignon if they do not obtain an absolute majority in the National Assembly on June 19, could the Insoumis obtain the very powerful presidency of the finance committee? It is indeed traditionally led by the largest opposition group. The possibility that this group is that of LFI being real – or at least that of their intergroup of Nupes – the question agitates the spirits these days.
It is since 2007 and by the will of Nicolas Sarkozy that the presidency of this commission made up of 73 elected officials returns to a group of the opposition. The case was engraved in stone in the rules of the Assembly in 2009, in article 39. For the term of office to come, the vote, by secret ballot, will take place on June 30 at 10:30 a.m.
