The financier of the Trump Organization, Alan Weiselberg, 75, was sentenced to five months in prison and fined two million dollars, after admitting to all 15 tax fraud offenses: “He agrees to testify against the former president’s family company”

Former President Donald Trump’s longtime financial manager Alan Weiselberg appeared before a New York judge on Thursday to plead guilty to 15 felonies after reaching an unusual plea deal that will see him serve five months in prison but serve just 100 days.

The prosecution will not oblige Weiselberg to testify against his old boss, whose father Fred Trump first introduced him to Donald Trump’s company, Weiselberg began working for Trump’s father in 1973, and will not oblige him to testify against members of the Trump family involved in the company.

But that would require him to testify about a series of business practices at the firm, having pleaded guilty to a string of tax and financial crimes while serving as a senior executive there. Weiselberg, 75, answered questions before New York State Judge Juan Marchen in Manhattan.

He simply replied ‘yes your honor’ as the judge read each of the 15 tax and fraud counts against him. The court set a light sentence of five months in prison, as well as five years of probation, but he will have to testify about the Trump Organization, which should begin in October. With the sentence shortened for good behavior, he is expected to serve only 100 days in jail.

Prosecutor Alvin Bragg released a statement that Weiselberg admitted that he participated in a scheme to defraud along with other defendants through the Trump Corporation. “Until 2017, former President Donald Trump was president and owner of the Trump Organization,” Bragg noted in a statement.

Yesterday (Thursday) Bragg: “Today Alan Weiselberg admitted in court that he used his position in the Trump Organization to pay less taxes and enrich himself, instead of paying his fair share like everyone else, Weiselberg asked the Trump Organization to provide him with a rent-free apartment, expensive cars, rent Private school tuition for his grandchildren and new furniture, all without paying required taxes. This plea deal directly implicates the Trump Organization in a wide range of criminal activity and requires Weiselberg to provide testimony in the upcoming trial against the corporation.”

New York Attorney General Letitia James said: “There is zero tolerance for people who cheat our country and cheat our communities. For years, Mr. Weiselberg broke the law to line his pockets and fund a lavish lifestyle. This misconduct ends, the guilty plea This sends a loud and clear message, we will take action against anyone who steals from the public for personal gain because no one is above the law,” she said.
