As reported, the fire started early Sunday morning after an attack by Ukrainian drones.
However, firefighters have still not been able to bring the fire under control, and the flames are taking over an ever-increasing area.
At the “Kavkaz” oil base, where the fuel intended for the Russian army is stored, the fire has now taken over an area of 10,000 square meters and 22 of the 74 diesel tanks are burning.
It is predicted that the fire, the extinguishing of which 520 people are already involved, will continue for several more days.
Already on Monday, a state of emergency was announced in Proletarsk.
Governor of Rostov region, Vasiliy Golubev, said on Monday afternoon that 41 firefighters had already been injured while extinguishing the fire.
18 of them had to be hospitalized. Five firefighters were placed in the intensive care unit.
Proletarska is located about 200 kilometers from the Ukrainian border and has a population of over 20,000.
