The fire at the Rowing Base is currently under control, announced the mayor of Plovdiv, Kostadin Dimitrov, who was at the scene when the flames started. Firefighters with 5 fire trucks, volunteers from DF “Plovdiv” 112 and the National Disaster Response Team, many citizens participated in extinguishing them. Employees of “Chistota” with 4 water carriers joined the fight against the fire. The mayor specifies that with him are his deputies Ivan Stoyanov and Angel Slavov.

“At the moment, firefighters and volunteers are dousing the burnt logs with knapsack sprinklers. By means of a submersible pump, the boys are using water from the Grebnia canal to put out the fire,” reports Kostadin Dimitrov.

Tonight are the last concerts of the Hills of Rock festival, which is held next door.
