The first civilian crew is planned to be sent to the ISS in March

The fully civilian crewed spacecraft of Axiom Space is scheduled to launch to the International Space Station (ISS) on March 31. Initially, the flight was supposed to take place in February, but it was decided to postpone it for a month.

The new launch date is announced in Twitter account Axiom space. The company said that the crew of the team will stay on the ISS for eight days and during this time “will be engaged in scientific, educational and commercial activities.”

The mission was named Axiom 1. The civilian crew will be sent to the ISS on the SpaceX Crew Dragon Resilience spacecraft. The cost of the flight was estimated at $55 million per person. The crew will be led by former NASA astronaut Michael Lopez-Alegria, along with American entrepreneur Larry Connor, Canadian investor and philanthropist Mark Pati, and Israeli businessman Eitan Stibbe.
