The first day of the ongoing non-cooperation movement called by the anti-discrimination student movement has been declared over as of today.

The coordinator of anti-discrimination student movement Tariqul Islam made the announcement at around 5:30 pm on Sunday.

At this time it was informed that the movement will start again tomorrow (Monday) at 11 am according to the pre-announced program. At this time, the protestors were also called to go to their respective homes.

Meanwhile, Asif Mahmud, one of the coordinators of the anti-discrimination student movement, has announced that the ‘March to Dhaka’ will be held on Monday instead of Tuesday.

He wrote in a Facebook post, in an urgent decision to review the situation, our ‘March to Dhaka’ program has been changed from August 6 to August 5. In other words, I am calling on students from all over the country to travel to Dhaka tomorrow.

He writes, Hasina has killed more than half a hundred students today. The time has come for the final answer. Especially from the surrounding districts, everyone will come to Dhaka and those who can leave for Dhaka today. The free student crowd came to Dhaka and took a stand on the streets.

He further said that the time has come to put the final signature of this student citizen uprising. Come to Dhaka to be a part of history. Students will make a new Bangladesh.

In this regard, the government has issued an evening law (curfew) in all departmental headquarters, city corporations, municipalities, industrial areas, district headquarters and upazila headquarters, including Dhaka metropolis, from 6 pm on Sunday until further notice. This was informed in a press release of the Ministry of Home Affairs.

The anti-discrimination student movement has called for an all-out non-cooperation movement from Sunday to demand the resignation of the government. At least 48 deaths have been reported in various parts of the country around this program. In this context, a round-the-clock curfew has been issued from Sunday evening.
