The first details about the cameras in the iPhone 17 and 17 Air have become known

The future iPhone 17 and thin iPhone 17 Air will not receive a telephoto lens, which is found in the Pro versions of Apple smartphones.

As Day.Az reports, this was reported by the South Korean publication The Elec.

According to the source, the base 2025 models, the iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Air, will not be equipped with a telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom. This camera will remain exclusive to Pro versions of devices.

It is assumed that Apple will not add optical zoom to the iPhone 17 Air due to its very thin design, which will not accommodate a large lens. At the same time, the basic iPhone will apparently retain a set of two cameras – the main one and the ultra-wide-angle one. According to rumors, the new iPhone 17 Air will only be able to offer a main camera with a resolution of 48 megapixels, like the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus. However, the smartphone will be able to use 2x digital zoom.

Little is known about the iPhone 17 Air yet. It is expected that the new product will replace the Plus versions and will receive the thinnest case in the entire history of the iPhone. At the same time, in many respects the smartphone will be inferior to Pro models.
