The energy check allows low-income households to pay part of the energy bills for their home or for their energy renovation work. This check, the first shipments of which begin this Wednesday, is sent by post to eligible persons according to their resources and the composition of their household. To receive it, all you need to do is declare your income the previous year. The average amount of this aid is 150 euros and can reach 277 euros depending on the income and composition of the household in question.

This year, the energy checks will be sent to the recipients’ homes between March 30 and April 30, 2022 depending on the department, the Ministry of Ecological Transition announced in a press release. If they are still beneficiaries, households who have already chosen to automatically allocate their energy check to their electricity or natural gas supplier will receive confirmation of this transmission of their aid for 2022 between April 11 and 22.

A “beneficiary” space available in April

With this check, households can pay the bills from electricity and natural gas suppliers, as well as other heating fuels (wood, heating oil, etc.). This also applies to “the heating costs included in the fees for housing-foyers approved for personalized housing assistance (APL), as well as in Ehpad, EHPA, independent residences, establishments and nursing care units. long term (USLD)”, specifies the Ministry of Sustainable Development. This can also be used for certain expenses related to the energy renovation of housing, carried out by a certified professional “Recognized guarantor of the environment” (RGE).

To help households, a “beneficiary” space will be available from the beginning of April on the dedicated website. “It will make it possible to better manage the procedures related to the energy check”, specifies the Ministry of Sustainable Development. It is also recalled that all professionals in the sectors concerned are required to accept this aid scheme.
