Time.news – From Saturday 7 October, on the occasion of the Contemporary Dayand until February 2024, the spaces of Gallery Hotel Art, Lungarno Collection, of Florence host the artistic collective Chromatic Number with the exhibition A burning fire edited by Valentina Ciarallo.

The Lungarno Collection returns to speak and feed on art with an exclusive project that enriches the list of collaborations that the Gallery Hotel Art in Vicolo dell’Oro 5 has been carrying out since 2012, continuing to act as an intermediary in the creative dialogue between contemporary art, the Florentines and his guests.

“My love for you will never be simple light, but a burning fire. I will miss you and I will look for you everywhere. I will open the windows onto endless spaces” is one of the verses of ILY, an acronym for I Love You, artificial intelligence created and trained to write love poems by the artistic collective Numero Cromatico.

The sentences generated from linguistic input and materialized on colored fabric textures open a reflection on the interaction between human and artificial intelligence and the resulting progressive challenge of technology.

Il group, born in 2011 and composed of artists, linguists, neuroscientists and designers, it is based on interdisciplinarity and a procedural methodology that involves neuroscience and artificial intelligence, through precise and original research that leads to a new perception and aesthetic theory.

The exhibition A burning fire was therefore born from the desire to stimulate the viewer to direct and active participation in the construction of the artistic experience, offering a new way of perceiving art and opening a reflection on cultural and social issues shared by humanity.

The writing of Numero Cromatico enters the sphere of emotions like traditional writing and the use of the work is completed as a multisensory experience. L’ILY creative algorithm generates unpublished poems related to love in all its forms and interpersonal relationships, drawing from the great authors of the past.

“Your eyes look and I listen to them”, “Flowers tremble, my kisses, your words”, “I will miss you and I look for you everywhere”: they are poetic phrases that live in a suspended, timeless space and that invite you to reflect on the existence of time itself. The work goes beyond the confines of pure reading and establishes a physical and tactile relationship with the viewer thanks to the soft fabrics used.

The craftsmanship of working on fabric, legacy of a past, with the use of primary colors on geometric patterns or camouflage is combined with technological processes. Creative visions translated into reality lead us to perceive Numero Cromatico’s work in a singular and personal way in each of us, entering the dimension in which the public becomes the subject and object of the work itself.

In many respects the Collective follows the research linked to the Avant-gardes of the twentieth centuryamong all the Futurism, as a movement open to the use of expressions that cross artistic and cultural territories, proposing a theory of art freed from pure aesthetics and based on scientific studies. Metaphor of a spontaneous and real artistic product, the fruit of a machine, which in turn is the fruit of human ingenuity.

Another significant influence for the group is l’Eventualismoan aesthetic theory of the Seventies led by the artist Sergio Lombardo, forerunner of artistic values connected to scientific data and promoter of a pragmatic experience between artist and public, between spectator and work, whose fulfillment is achieved in the public’s response same.

The exhibition is then enriched by the “Somnium” project born from the collaboration with Untitled Association. A device created to stimulate dream activity as a vital manifestation but also as an atavistic revelation. The “Somnium” kit is supplied with instructions for use and is available to hotel guests as a means of promote the memory of dreams upon awakening. The exhibition occasion thus becomes for “Somnium” the field in which to study and record perceptive reactions. The collection of dreams is shared on displays as a collective dream.

Furthermore, a series of unpublished works on kiwi pulp-based paper enrich the selection of evocative tapestries chosen for A burning fire. The use of carta ecological is recurring in the collective’s editorial production, with the use of Risograph cold printing, also called “ideal” for the use of sustainable inks and materials.

“My love for you will never be a mere light, but a burning fire” is the site-specific intervention created outside the Gallery Hotel Art which invites the public to the experiential journey of Numero Cromatico which, also on this occasion, confirms being like a “device” open to comparison and in continuous evolution and research.
