The heat wave will activate this Monday, June 26, the alerts in 24 provinces of nine autonomous communities, with Córdoba and Seville at extreme risk (red) due to temperatures of up to 44ºC.

In addition to the warnings in the Sevillian and Cordovan countryside, Cádiz, Huelva, Jaén, Ciudad Real, Toledo, Badajoz, Cáceres and Madrid will be at significant risk (orange) due to high temperatures, which will also affect Granada, Huesca, Zaragoza, Ávila , Salamanca, Albacete, Cuenca, Guadalajara, Barcelona, ​​Girona, Lleida, Tarragona, Valencia and Las Palmas, with yellow alert.

In general, the maximum temperatures will drop in the northern and eastern thirds of the peninsula, being notable in the northeast of the northern plateau, while few changes or slight increases are expected in the rest, such as in inland areas of the Canary Islands.

Thus, 36/38 degrees will be exceeded in large areas of the southern half of the peninsula and in northeastern areas, even clearly exceeding 40 degrees in the southwestern quadrant, especially in the valleys.

A heat wave that will last until Monday and that will cause the law approved by the Government to limit outdoor work in areas where they are on red or orange alert to be activated for the first time.

At night, the minimum will drop in the northwestern half of the peninsula and increase in the rest, staying at around 20ºC on the Mediterranean coasts and the southwestern quadrant.

This Monday, cloudy skies with low clouds and light and scattered rains are also expected in the Cantabrian area and northern Galicia, as well as low cloudiness in the upper Ebro and areas of Galicia, with a probability of mist and morning fog banks in much of the interior of the extreme north of the peninsula.
