The first official Nintendo museum has opened in Japan, inviting fans to delve into decades of gaming history.
As Day.Az reports with reference to the official website of the museum, the Kyoto museum will feature interactive exhibits, gaming artifacts, workshops and huge controllers inspired by iconic video games.
The museum has three main sections. The first, Learn, focuses on the company’s history, while Experience is a series of interactive exhibits. The third, Create and Play, is a workshop where visitors can create their own creations.
Upon entering the museum, guests are given a card containing ten coins, which they can use to play with one of the interactive exhibits. In the workshop area, guests can make their own hanafuda playing cards, one of Nintendo’s earliest products. The spacious history area features displays of past Nintendo models, including a clay model of the N64 controller and vintage cartridges for popular games.
Japanese game designer Shigeru Miyamoto, who created such video game series as Mario, Donkey Kong, The Legend of Zelda, Star Fox, Nintendogs, Wave Race and Pikmin for Nintendo video game consoles, notes that the goal is to make the space accessible so that gamers from all walks of life could enjoy similar experiences.
