Shafin Ahmed gave voice to the romantic song titled ‘Shon Tumi’ in the movie ‘Warning’. The film’s producer Safiuddin Safi told RisingBD the story behind the inclusion of Shafin Ahmed in the song. He said, “I was looking for a good artist for the song ‘Shon Tumi’. At that time Asif Akbar had left the playback of the movie. Tutul is not in the country. Besides, James has sung the title song of this movie. Shaukat Ali Imon suggested me the name of Shafin Ahmed. As soon as I heard the name, I agreed. His Gunere fan already. I met him on the day of recording the song. This is his first and last playback. After that, he did not play back in any other movie.”

Shafin Ahmed died at 6:50 am on Thursday (July 25) Bangladesh time in a hospital in Virginia, USA. He was 63 years old at the time of his death.

In 1979, Shafin Ahmed formed Miles, one of the most popular bands in the history of Bangladesh. In 1982, Miles released his first album ‘Miles’ and in 1986, ‘Step Father’. The first Bengali album ‘Pratishruti’ was released in 1991. The Chand-Tara song from this album became hugely popular.
