THE CONQUEST OF EVEREST (2/6) – On May 29, 1953, the two members of the British expedition Edmund Hillary and Tensing Norguay reached the summit of the highest mountain in the world for the first time.

70 years ago, Mount Everest (8848m), on the border between Nepal and Tibet, was climbed for the first time.
