American company Doroni Aerospace spent testing of a two-seat manned aircraft with vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL). The company claims that this is the first successful launch of such a machine in the United States. The final version of the body will differ from the current prototype, and the company also expects to build a second version of the electric car in August.

Unlike models developed by other companies, which will not only fly, but also move on the roads, the device from Doroni Aerospace is designed only for flights. It is equipped with eight electric motors to drive the main propellers and two motors to drive the propellers at the rear. According to the head of the company Doron Merdinger, the device Doroni Aerospace can revolutionize the field of transportation.

The electric car will be able to fly without recharging 100 km at speeds up to 160 km/h. Doroni Aerospace certifies the craft as a “light sport aircraft” so it doesn’t require a pilot’s license to fly it. The company expects to launch the device on the market as early as 2024. The flying car will cost $195,000.

There are other eVTOL startups in the US (Ryse and BlackFly, for example), but they are focused on single-seat projects. Israeli startup Air is developing a two-seat version of the eVTOL, but plans to begin manned testing later this year.
