A24 announced that MaXXXine, the third film in Ti West’s horror trilogy, will be released in the United States in July. After watching the first two films, viz X – A Sexy Horror Story and the prequel Pearl, we had crowned Mia Goth, who in the meantime has become one of the faces of Miu Miu, as the princess of horror (if you want to recover it, this is the article). Until now, among the few things that were known about the film were the problems caused on the set by the protagonist herself, accused by an extra of having kicked her in the head (we wrote about it here). Despite this, apparently, filming continued and the film set in neon Los Angeles in 1985 is ready for release.
As we see in the trailer – explosive and very charged, perhaps a little too much – in this film we find Maxine, an aspiring porn actress who we met on the set of an amateur porn (the setting of X – A Sexy Horror Story), committed, just as she promised, to making it in Hollywood and becoming famous. Also in the cast are Halsey, Elizabeth Debicki, Moses Sumney, Michelle Monaghan, Bobby Cannavale, Lily Collins, Giancarlo Esposito and, surprisingly, Kevin Bacon. MaXXXine will debut in American cinemas on July 5th. A distribution date in Italian cinemas, however, has not yet been announced.
