The first two banks successfully exchanged digital rubles

VTB and Promsvyazbank (PSB) were the first of 12 banks in the pilot group to successfully transfer digital rubles between their clients, credit institutions said. To test the platform of the digital ruble of the Central Bank, banks have developed special versions of their mobile applications.

The creation of a prototype platform for the digital ruble was completed in December 2021, according to the website of the Central Bank. 12 banks are participating in the pilot: Ak Bars, Alfa-Bank, Dom.RF, VTB, Gazprombank, Tinkoff Bank, PSB, Rosbank, Sberbank, SKB-Bank, Soyuz and Transcapitalbank (TKB). Three of them have already connected to the platform, the remaining participants of the pilot group will connect as they fine-tune their IT systems, the regulator said.
