Remedy has struck a deal with Rockstar Games to remake the first two games, Max Payne, for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC. Funded entirely by Rockstar, the collaboration will see Remedy recreate the classic third-person design game to AAA specifications. What is currently certain is that the work will be based on Remedy’s own Northlight engine, and the “Control” developed based on it has always had a pretty good reputation for pictures.

“We were thrilled when we approached our old friend Remedy to re-create the original True Colors game,” said Rockstar Games co-founder Sam Houser. “We’ve been longtime fans of Remedy’s work and couldn’t wait to play it. It’s a brand new version.”

The original 2001’s The Color of the Lakes helped secure Remedy’s place in the gaming world and established the studio’s iconic narrative style. After The Matrix made bullet time a hit, The Matrix was one of the first games to incorporate the effect. Two years later, “Jianghu True Colors 2” was launched, and the publishers of the first two works were Rockstar. After that, Rockstar also took over the development of “Jianghu True Colors 3”, and it is currently preparing for the fourth game, which will also become the final chapter of the series.
