The Flash hasn’t hit theaters yet, but the script for a sequel is already in place. According to Variety, screenwriter David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick, who worked on Aquaman, already has the text ready for the second film of the scarlet speedster.
According to information on the site, the script features the participation of Michael Keaton as Batman and Sasha Calle as Supergirl, who are in the first feature. However, Ezra Miller would not be confirmed as the protagonist within the script.
Despite this, nothing guarantees that The Flash 2 will come out of paper. Warner Bros has not yet given its approval and the decision will depend a lot on the performance of the first film at the box office, which arrives in Brazilian theaters on June 15th.
In a recent interview with The Discourse podcast, director Andy Muschietti said he hopes to have Ezra if a sequel is confirmed. “I don’t think there’s anyone else who can play this character as well as he does. The other portrayals are great, but this particular vision… Ezra just stood out playing him… It feels like a character made for Ezra.

In the film, Barry travels to an alternate world, where his mother was not murdered, to prevent her death. In doing so, he is trapped in another reality where no superheroes exist. The main timeline Barry must team up with an otherworldly Barry, as well as the Kryptonian superheroine Supergirl, played by Sasha Calle, to stop General Zod, played by Michael Shannon.
If all those alternate universe superheroes aren’t enough, The Flash will also feature two different Batmans. Michael Keaton’s Batman and Ben Affleck’s Batman will appear in the film. Affleck’s Batman and Miller’s Flash first met in 2016’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and both made cameos in Suicide Squad.
The cast also includes Ron Livingston and Maribel Verdú as Barry’s parents, Kiersey Clemons as Iris West, and Aquaman actor Temuera Morrison returns as Thomas Curry, Aquaman’s father. The Flash is directed by Andy Muschietti, director of the horror films It.
The Flash finally came out of DC’s oven after being postponed a few times due to the global crisis established with the pandemic and controversies surrounding Miller, which caused uncertainty about the continuation of production. The original launch was scheduled for November 2022.
