The forest department recently rescued the brutally beaten elephant on the instructions of Syeda Rizwana Hasan, advisor to the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change.

Dipankar Kar, Public Relations Officer of the concerned ministry said on Thursday that legal action against the owner of the elephant is under process.

He also said that the injured elephant in Comilla’s Daudkandi was identified in Bakhrabad gas field area of ​​Devidwar. After a night-long effort, the elephant was rescued from Sonaullah village in Muradnagar on Thursday. After the initial health checkup, the elephant has been sent to Gazipur Safari Park.

The elephant was identified with the help of Comilla Forest Department and volunteers under the supervision of Ministry Secretary and Chief Conservator of Forests. The situation became complicated due to non-cooperation of the mahout, but the elephant was arrested and brought under control on Thursday morning.

The elephant is reportedly being brought to the Gazipur Safari Park.

Note that a video of the brutal beating of the elephant has gone viral on social media. When the matter came to the attention of the adviser of the ministry, he gave instructions to rescue the elephant on an urgent basis. Following the directions, the elephant was rescued by the combined efforts of the Wildlife and Nature Conservation Zone of the Forest Department, Comilla Forest Department and the local people.
