The Hungarian currency strengthened by about half a percent against the main currencies compared to its early morning quotation on the interbank foreign exchange market on Monday.
At six o’clock in the afternoon, the euro was quoted at 382.69 forints after 384.46 forints in the early morning, the dollar fell to 354.43 forints from 356.42 forints, and the Swiss franc fell to 400.88 forints from 402.86.
The forint started the week weaker against all three currencies than a week earlier: by 0.6 percent against the euro, 0.7 percent against the dollar and 0.8 percent against the Swiss franc.
Since the beginning of the year, the forint has strengthened by 4.2 percent against the euro, 5.1 percent against the dollar and 0.7 percent against the Swiss franc.
