The first condolences were expressed by the department of Alexander Bastrykin:
“Our colleague, the first head of the department for interaction with the media of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, Major General of Justice Vladimir Ivanovich Markin, has passed away. This is a heavy loss for all of us.”
For us journalists, Markin was the main assistant. You could call him any day and any time of the day. He not only always answered, but always helped us.
In the ICR itself, they said that it “really was able to destroy the existing stereotypes about the informational isolation of state bodies.”
