Company director Adrijus Jakučionis informed content creators of the dismissal of the former manager, who failed to meet the company’s reputation standards.
The former manager violated company procedures by entering into a personal loan agreement. Upon discovery, he immediately repaid the money, causing no harm. This incident led to his immediate dismissal.
Furthermore, the company’s financial declaration was previously submitted late, resulting in unpaid taxes. Contribee is currently rectifying this issue and has incurred a debt.
However, A. Jakučionis stated that all necessary documents have been submitted, and the final declarations are expected to be approved in August, cancelling the debt.
The State Tax Inspectorate (VMI) confirmed that Contribee’s tax deductions amount to 73,000 euros. As of June 30th, the company owed 3,200 euros to Sodra, but this debt had reduced to 6 euros by August 8th.
An investigation into Contribee’s activities has been initiated by the Kaunas County Chief Police Commissariat at the request of the Kaunas District Prosecutor’s Office.
One of the founders and former director, G. Ratkevičius, admitted to entering into a loan agreement but denied any intention of embezzlement.
Viktorija Trimbel, representing the venture capital fund CoInvest Capital, confirmed that they had also requested the initiation of an investigation, considering themselves a victim.
Contribee has 13 shareholders, with A. Jakučionis holding 31.5%, G. Ratkevičius with 30.34%, and Mantas Michalauskas with 16%. Other shareholders include the Second Co-Investment Fund with 10.5%.
Lithuanian developers increasingly turned to Contribee in 2022, following the start of the war in Ukraine, when its competitor, Patreon, restricted Ukrainian soldiers from receiving donations.
