The former president of Arthur D. Little Spain Carlos Mira had a court date this Thursday to defend himself against accusations of revealing secrets in space tourism projects. The former director of the consulting firm and CEO of Halo Space has testified before the investigating court number 23 of Madrid, which is investigating the complaint that Zero 2 Infinity filed against the aeronautical company and against him, as well as against EOS-X Spaceship and its founder. , Kemel Kharbachi, for the alleged use of privileged information to establish said competing companies, violating the confidentiality agreements previously signed.

According to the complaint, Zero 2 Infinity, founded by José Mariano López Urdiales, first contacted, in November 2018, the CEO of Agora Next and founder of EOS-X Spaces to obtain financing, investors and partners for the project; and later, in 2019, and through Kharbachi, with Carlos Mira and Arthur D. Little. Based on this entire relationship, the complaint continues, those responsible for the two companies received information about the flights to the stratosphere, which they later used to “launch their own competing business projects on the market.”

To clarify these facts, and before deciding whether to carry out further investigation proceedings, the Madrid judge decided to take statements from Carlos Mira and Kemel Kharbachi, appearances that took place this Thursday. According to legal sources present at the interrogations, Mira – who has answered all the questions asked by all parties, including the investigating judge – has denied all accusations about the theft of ideas.

As specified during his statement, Zero 2 Infinity has never had a contractual relationship with Halo Space or Arthur D. Little. In this sense, he has indicated that the complaint responds to an attempt by the founder of the complaining company to make it seem that he developed a project with “value.”

Kemel Kharbachi has also expressed himself along this same line. According to the sources consulted, the leader of EOS-X Spaces has explained that the contractual relationship with Zero 2 Infinity ended because the project had no development, since there was no technical or strategic knowledge for it (which in business jargon is called know-how).

The complaint indicates that in April 2019, Zero 2 Infinity and the head of Agora Next signed a collaboration agreement for the second company to provide professional advice on a financing round for the project for an approximate amount of between three and 10 million euros. In return, Agora Next received a percentage of 10% of the amount received from López Urdiales’ company as fees.
