Leni Gabai commented on her dismissal from the children’s channel and said: “It’s a scar that accompanies me to this day. My world collapsed on me. I thought I would always be relevant, but one day I was summoned to a meeting and the director of the channel told me, ‘It’s very difficult for me, but we decided not to renew the contract with you.’ Shock. I didn’t even think this was a possible scenario. On the face of it, everything looked good, but new people arrived and changed the face of the channel, and that was the first cap I got from the profession.”
“From the age of 17, when the ‘eighth’ started, I went from one place to another, the job offers flowed in and I was feeling abundant. At the age of 20, I was earning 20-30 thousand NIS a month. This was the first place I experienced lack of success and disappointment. I was depressed for half a year. I didn’t know what I wanted to do, I felt how the wave I was swimming in broke onto the shore. It felt like an abyss. I thought I wasn’t good enough. After all, this is what I knew how to do, to be light and fun, cute to the fans and also very professional, so what happened here? The children’s channel was the essence of my life and they left me, removed me.”

When asked if there was a chance she would return to the children’s channel if she was offered to return, Leni Gabai replied: “It really doesn’t suit me. I was invited to a meeting in honor of the channel’s 30th anniversary and I didn’t feel like I wanted to be there, so I didn’t come. If it’s about playing in a series – I’ll consider it.” .
