The WrestleMania 23 stunt was the culmination of the highly publicized “Battle of the Billionaires” feud of theWWEin which McMahon and Trump each endorsed a wrestler and agreed to a bet where the winner would shave the loser bald if the chosen contestant lost.
Trump’s deal with theWWE called on McMahon to donate his $4 million performance fee to charity in exchange for his participation, a person familiar with the contract told The Wall Street Journal.
Trump allegedly took steps to protect his distinctive hair, instructing his subordinates to make the deal so that “under no circumstances will Mr. McMahon be allowed to shave his head, even if Mr. Trump’s wrestler dies in the ring,” according to the magazine.
