The Foundation for Creativity trains 33,000 students to transform the world

In the ten years of life of the Foundation for Creativity33,000 students from more than 150 educational centers from all over Catalonia have participated in the projects promoted by the Girona entity.

From primary school children to university master’s students, the attendees were able to learn and put into practice different things tools to stimulate their creativity and capacity for innovation, as well as develop transformative proposals able to give response to real challenges raised by organizations and companies. Over the course of recent years, several educational projects linked to sustainability and environmental protection have been carried out, such as the Discovery of the Pyrenees, promoted jointly with Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya; o La Mar de Net, promoted with the Federation of Fishermen’s Brotherhoods of Girona and the Department of Climate Action, Food and Rural Agenda of the Generalitat to promote among the students initiatives that promote the reduction of single-use plastics and the problem of its discharge into the marine environment. Projects such as the Animal Respect Challenge have also been developed, jointly promoted with the company Gosbi by promote animal welfare; the TurisTIC Challenge, to find new proposals for a more inclusive and sustainable tourism with the support of the Tourism Board of the Province of Tarragona; a project by the Josep Carreras Foundation for boost bone marrow donations; with the FC Barcelona Foundation to look for proposals to improve the emotional well-being of hospitalized children; or with Open Arms, for promote innovative initiatives to raise awareness among the population about refugees.

Throughout the ten years of the Foundation, they have presented themselves more than 2,000 proposals. Among those that have come true, there is a campaign of interactive bracelets from the BescaNo Plàstic project or bracelets to encourage the use of returnable packaging in local commerce.

The president of the Foundation for Creativity, Pep Garcia, highlighted yesterday in a press conference that “the ability to solve complex problems, critical thinking and creativity are considered the three key skills of the professionals of the future” and assured that “we must solve great challenges at the level of humanity , where creativity and innovation play a fundamental role». For his part, the director of the Foundation, Miguel Ángel Olivapointed out that “we still have many students left to accompany in the discovery of the talents they have in order to bring them to the surface”.

Natural or artificial intelligence

The organization will start the events commemorating its 10th anniversary next October 4 with a battle in Barcelona to confront human skills and natural intelligence with the capabilities of new technologies and artificial intelligence. The event will be paid for by the publicist Tony Segarra and one of the top experts in digital transformation, Genís Roca.
