Marichkov passed away only 20 days before his 80th birthday. He died in an accident in the Selanovtsi village of Vratsa.
On the occasion of the assembly, there was a concert of the formation in the village. During the performance, Kiril Marichkov fell off the stage and hit his head badly. The incident happened around 18:45. An ambulance was immediately called, but he died on the way to Oryahovo. The legend of Bulgarian rock would have turned 80 on October 30.
