After two postponements due to Covid-19 and unprepared infrastructure, the 9th Games of La Francophonie are open in Kinshasa. The opening ceremony brought together 80,000 people at the Martyrs’ Stadium, who came to watch with jubilation the parade of delegations from the thirty or so participating countries, provinces or regions. Some 3,000 athletes and artists are taking part in tournaments and competitions until August 6.
