The French tightrope walker Paulin travels 500 meters between two hills in Rio on a rope

Time.news – The French tightrope walker Nathan Paulin, known for having walked the wire at impressive heights setting several world records, today he did it for 500 meters between two spectacular heights of the Brazilian city of Rio de Janeiro, at a height of 80 meters.

Barefoot, Paulin walked the distance on a 2.5-inch-wide wire in about half an hour. Twenty-seven-year-old Paulin, who has been passionate about the mountains since he was a child, started tightrope walking in 2011. Today he is one of the most popular highliners in the world having set a dozen world records.

His longest crossing over the void was on 9 June 2017, when he traveled 1,662 meters, at a height of 300 meters, in the Cirque de Navacelles. In the same year, he also traveled the 670 meters that separate the Eiffel Tower from the Place du Trocadèro, his best-known performance.
